These funds have gone towards the purchase of two Family Places in Auckland and Wellington, the purchase and maintenance of two Sunshine Lodge holiday homes in Taupo and Queenstown and in 2007 towards the purchase of a National Centre in Auckland. Professionals, like the unflinching Child Cancer Foundation ambassadors below, would like to help make a difference and raise funds for the appeal. This years Child Cancer ambassadors are: Lauren Hemingway - is 12, lives in Auckland, and is in treatment for CNS (Central nervous system) GermLaminaTumour, without stuff diagnosed on May 1st, last year.  Lauren’s tumours were too dangerous to operate on so she went through six months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. One of the larger tumours destroyed Lauren’s pituitary gland and with radiotherapy has unauthentic her worthiness to produce hormones and so the next phase of her treatment is to replace the hormones with the endocrine team.  She has 314 beads. Jayme Leary - is five years old and lives in Christchurch.  He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on 30 April, 2010 and spent 3 1/2 years on treatment finishing in July, 2013.  Jayme has 521 Beads of Courage. Jayme’s Leukaemia treatment had a few bumps withal the journey with infections ending in hospital stays, three portacath surgeries and a stint in isolation for a week with a severe specimen of yellow pox. Quinn Hautapu - saw the when page in the Child Cancer Foundation’s Sharing Magazine for families and said "I want to be one of their stars!!!"The eight-year-old Palmerston North girl’s cancer journey began when she became paralysed lanugo her right side, in January, 2013.  Scans showed a massive smart-ass haemorrhage (left side cerebrum). Emergency surgery removed a fist-sized thoroughbred clot, saving her life. Quinn was subsequently diagnosed with a Primitive neuroectodermal tumour of smart-ass (PNET). Quinn’s treatment has included upper dose radiotherapy followed by chemotherapy and stem lamina rescue. Her treatment finished in August 2013. Quinn has virtually 700 beads.
